SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 05/24/2024

Good morning,

I hope everyone is preparing for a relaxing holiday weekend. Many people forget the meaning of this very significant holiday. It is a time for all of us to mourn and honor our United States Military personnel who served and died for the freedoms we enjoy each day.

It has been another busy week here. Deputies have made several drug arrests this week. ((See Attached Photos) Deputy Dusty Walton made two separate traffic stops which led to the discovery of 10 grams of methamphetamine and a pistol on the first stop. The second stop resulted in the seizure of over a pound of marijuana and two pistols, one of which was stolen out of Fordyce. There were several smaller drug seizures made this past week. We remain committed to working on curtailing the drug issues as much as possible for our community. I want to recognize all of my personnel for their dedication and hard work in rooting out these illicit drugs that negatively impact our county.

Mr. Rucker has been out this week recovering from a recent medical procedure. He is recovering and should be back next week if possible. We have kept his crew busy around the detention facility doing maintenance, mowing/weed eating. Keep Mr. Rucker in your prayers!

On that same note, please continue to keep Major Mike Foster and his family in your prayers as his daughter Madison is recovering from a serious illness at UAMS in Little Rock. She is doing better but has a long road to fully recover. I was able to visit her on Wednesday and I can see some improvement. She is still a very sick young lady.

The "click it or ticket" campaign is ongoing until June 2nd. Be sure to buckle up at all times to make sure if you are involved in an accident your chances of severe injury or worse can be avoided. If nothing else, do it for your loved ones!

Have a great holiday weekend and be safe in whatever activity you choose. The same goes for lifejackets if you are out on the water.
