Good afternoon, I wanted to send an update on some recent events this past week. It is with a heavy heart that we have lost two young people in our community. The first one involved a shooting at a birthday party where a young man lost his life. The second was a suicide. Both of these incidents are a sad reality of our society today. The shooting incident is under investigation by the Arkansas State Police, Fordyce Police Department, and the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. I

On Saturday night, Sergeant Jordan Ables and Deputy Dusty Walton were involved in a vehicle pursuit that began in Hot Spring County. The suspect vehicle crossed over into Dallas County, where Sergeant Ables was the lead vehicle in the pursuit. It was determined that the car was stolen in Faulkner County. Deputies were called to a residence in reference to a possible sexual assault. The caller advised that she had met a subject online and invited the suspect to her home. This case is still under investigation. I bring this up to once again highlight the dangers of using the internet for this purpose. This is like playing Russian roulette with your sa
