SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - UPDATE 2/03/2026
Good afternoon, I wanted to send an update on some recent events this past week. It is with a heavy heart that we have lost two young people in our community. The first one involved a shooting at a birthday party where a young man lost his life. The second was a suicide. Both of these incidents are a sad reality of our society today. The shooting incident is under investigation by the Arkansas State Police, Fordyce Police Department, and the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. I

SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 1/29/2026
Good afternoon, I am sending you my report a day early because I will be out of the office most of the day tomorrow. It's been a long week! I hope everyone has made it through icepocalypse 2026. I have done my best to keep everyone informed of the road conditions each day. I do think we dodged a major bullet with minimal freezing rain, which would have disabled a lot of power. As far as I know, I haven't heard of anyone losing power around the county. Please remember to stay

SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 1/23/2026
Good morning, I hope everyone is prepared for the winter weather forecast for this weekend. It's anyone's guess as to what we will receive right now. I live by this motto: prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I'm certainly hoping and praying we can dodge a considerable ice accumulation. If we do have a buildup of ice, I would like you to stay away from areas around your residence with large trees. The last time we had an event such as this, we had several trees fall o

Good morning, It looks like we have some colder weather coming. Don't forget to protect your water pipes and pets and check on your neighbors. Bundle up and stay warm! I have attached some numbers for the end-of-the-year report on felony arrests, drug seizures, and illegal guns taken off our streets. I am very proud of the work that has been done since being elected as your sheriff. I would challenge anyone to look at a department of our size and compare the numbers. All the

Good morning, I'm happy to report that on Wednesday, we held our third annual Shop with A Cop at the Fordyce Walmart. We had 39 kids participate this year, which is a new record. This is a worthy program that I have been involved in for over 20 years. I want to personally thank everyone who donated to this program for making it a huge success. You know who you are. Each child could spend $150.00 to select anything they wanted or needed for Christmas. A special shoutout to the

Good morning, I hope everyone is getting into the holiday spirit. I want to start out by letting everyone know we are still taking donations for our shop with a cop event. While the registration cutoff has passed, we can still accept any donations up until December 10th, no matter how small. We have almost 40 children registered to participate at this time. On a more serious note, I want to dispel some rumors circulating on social media. Not a week goes by without someone ask
