Good morning,
It's always busy at the Sheriff's Office. We've been busy making some personnel changes this week that I shared with you yesterday.
One DWI Arrest was made last Friday night, along with two parole absconders. We completed two probation home visits. We are currently conducting an investigation with the FBI, and more information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.
That leads me straight into my next point. I want to recognize Major Mike Foster, who is retiring from the Sheriff's Office on January 1. I announced this morning his replacement, Brady Harmon. A little bit of history regarding Major Foster and me. We started our careers together in the mid-1980s. We have been like family since then, even though our career paths have taken slightly different trajectories. He left Game & Fish and joined the Arkansas State Police. He retired as the Major of the Highway Patrol. He had been retired for three years, and I had been retired for six before I decided to run for Dallas County Sheriff. I asked him to come and be my Chief Deputy/Major, and he never hesitated to take on that responsibility. My point is, he has made so many sacrifices for me and the people of Dallas County. He has been my right hand, always my voice of reason. He is and will always be my brother! I can't say enough about the kind of person he is: honest, trustworthy, and experienced. He is the true epitome of a public servant! He will be missed here at the Sheriff's Office, but his daughter has experienced some health issues, and it's time for him to return home to assist her. Family first! If you should see him before he leaves, please thank him for his service and sacrifice to Dallas County. There is no doubt Brady Harmon can fill his shoes with a bit of tenure.
The next man I'm going to talk about is Deputy Bill Rogers. Mr. Bill, as I affectionately call him, has served the citizens of Dallas County for 21 years. If you know him, you can't not like him. I've never seen a man who maintains the same demeanor in every situation. What you see is what you get. A very hard-working, dependable deputy who sincerely cares about his people and community. My point is that I cannot say enough about how blessed I've been to have men like these two serve beside me. I want to wish them both good luck on their next chapter in life. We will pray for you daily, Mrs. Elaine!
We are having a retirement reception for Mike and Bill on Monday, Nov 24, at the Temple Baptist Church Life Center (across from the courthouse) from noon until 2 pm. Please drop by and shake their hands. They've both gone far beyond the expectations of their job descriptions.
We had Felony Circuit Court this past Wednesday, and several cases were adjudicated:

Simply go by FBT Bank and tell them you want to donate, and they will assist you. We have many children signed up already and we simply cannot do this program without your assistance.
