SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - UPDATE 2/03/2026

Good afternoon,

I wanted to send an update on some recent events this past week. It is with a heavy heart that we have lost two young people in our community. The first one involved a shooting at a birthday party where a young man lost his life. The second was a suicide. Both of these incidents are a sad reality of our society today.

The shooting incident is under investigation by the Arkansas State Police, Fordyce Police Department, and the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. I can assure everyone that we are all working closely to find out who is responsible for this senseless act of violence. What is frustrating to investigators is that over 60 people were in attendance at this party, and no one seems to know or have seen anything. Many are quick to judge law enforcement when things like this happen, but no one wants to be a part of the solution.

I am asking anyone who has information regarding this shooting to please come forward to bring justice for the victim and his family. I knew the young man who was taken from us senselessly, and I will never forget that smile. This gun violence has to stop!
