SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 11/26/2025

Good morning,

This week's report is coming to you early due to the Thanksgiving holiday. We at the Dallas County Sheriff's Office wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! Please enjoy and spend time with loved ones and be thankful for the many blessings we have. I know I'm blessed beyond measure and never take it for granted.

The weekend did not begin well at all. Deputies responded to a side-by-side rollover accident, which claimed the life of one. This incident is still under investigation, and no charges will be filed until the investigation is completed. This is just a tragic story that began when some close friends and family came down to deer hunt. Unfortunately, it will be a memory that will affect these families for the rest of their lives. I share this sad story as a reminder to everyone who operates these off-road vehicles to do so with caution. This piece of machinery is equipped with seat belts for a reason; please use them. I personally knew the mother and had to deliver the devastating news. I'm begging everyone, please don't drink and drive anything. Get a designated driver at all times to prevent these tragedies! Please pray for this family.

We are currently working on two active investigations, one involving drugs and the other an embezzlement case.
