SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 1/02/2026

Good morning,

Wow! What a busy time of the year with the holidays and business at the Sheriff's Office. First, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I wish I could report that criminal activity slowed down during the holidays, but that's not the case. Deputies were busy answering calls and working DWI Checkpoints. I will post the final numbers for arrests made during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign in my next report.

I want to update everyone on an incident that occurred on Wednesday that involved two Dallas County Deputies and a Fordyce Police Officer. This incident involved three officers discharging their duty weapons and striking a suspect. The Arkansas State Police is currently investigating this incident, which will be turned over to the prosecutor for review to ensure that all policies/laws were followed in the use of deadly force. I'm happy to report that no officers were injured and are currently on administrative leave pending completion of the investigation. I'm asking everyone to continue praying for all involved in this incident.
