SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 11/07/2025

Good morning,

Deer season is almost here. We wish everyone a successful hunt.

Last weekend was a busy one, as always. It started off last Friday night with a DWI arrest on Highway 9. On Saturday night, we received a report of some individuals on the side of the road involved in an altercation. Responding deputies ended up arresting the suspects for disorderly conduct and an array of other charges. On Monday night, Deputy Dusty Walton responded to a report of someone shooting on a county road after dark. After making contact with the suspect vehicle, it was ascertained that the suspects were night hunting wildlife. The driver of the car was a convicted felon and was transported to the Dallas County Detention Center. He had just recently been released from the Department of Corrections. Some people learn more slowly than others! The night hunting case was turned over to the Arkansas Game & Fish Game Wardens.

We have had several inquiries about the shop with a cop program. We have already had several sign up. The cutoff age this year will be 12 years and under. We are seeking donations for this vital program. This event has been an enormous success in the past two years. We allow the selected kids to meet at Walmart and buy Christmas gifts that they may otherwise be unable to afford. This program is not limited to just toys. They are allowed to purchase clothes, shoes, or any other necessary items. If you would like to make a donation, there is an account set up at FBT Bank in Fordyce. Please just let the teller know you want to make a donation, and they can help you. All donations are welcome.

I want to say an early Happy Veteran's Day to all our veterans. Whether they volunteered or were drafted by Uncle Sam, these men and women have been in place to protect our freedoms and our lives and we owe them a debt of gratitude for their actions. Our office, like many, will be closed on Tuesday in honor of our vets.
