SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 05/30/2025

Good morning,

What a week at the Sheriff's Office. We began the weekend working with the Arkansas State Police on a runaway fifteen-year-old female. I want to commend Deputy Tim Wofford on his work in this case, which helped ensure the juvenile's safe return home. She was located in Forest City, Arkansas. I have previously mentioned the dangers of the internet in situations like this. The suspect, a twenty-two-year-old, has been charged with custodial interference at this time. Additional charges may be incurred as the investigation progresses. Please be aware of your child's online activity at all times to avoid situations like this. We had her and the suspect in custody within six hours of her leaving. Hats off to Deputy Wofford and Arkansas State Police Sergeant Matt Foster for their diligent work to ensure a positive outcome to this case.

We also assisted the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department in serving a search warrant earlier this week. The warrant was successfully served and resulted in the arrest of several individuals along with a seizure of drugs. The search and investigation also led to the arrest of another convicted felon, who is being held on a $100,000 bond for felony fleeing and possession of a controlled substance in Calhoun County. I am proud that we have been working so well with surrounding departments. We have been fortunate to have the cooperation and assistance of neighboring agencies in our efforts to combat drugs and other serious crimes. We are glad to return the favor when asked for our help.

The Fordyce Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the investigation into the break-in at Hurry Back and the attempted break-in at the Tobacco Store that occurred earlier this week. Damariyun Rainey is being charged with Commercial Burglary, Theft of Property, and Criminal Mischief.

Mr. Kerry Simmons has been busy this week trying to keep up with litter around the county.

Sheriff Mike Knoedl
