Good morning,
I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend. I spent mine working with Deputies all weekend.
We conducted a safety check at Dalark Saturday night that turned out to be very productive. We made two DWI arrests, one in which the driver had a four-year-old passenger with him. The driver was almost twice the legal limit driving with this baby. People often ask why we do these safety checks. This is a prime example of why. We are dedicated to everyone's safety at all times and that is why we do them. We made several drug arrests, along with the DWI's. Some suspected Fentanyl pills were recovered during the checkpoint. As many know these pills can be deadly to anyone taking them, even in tiny doses. Fentanyl is one of the most lethal drugs around us. They are colored to mimic candy which can be catastrophic to any small child who comes into contact with them.
We are currently working on a break-in at the Fordyce Entergy office. There was a substantial amount of copper stolen. This happened sometime in the early morning hours of 5-31-24. If you happen to see anything or have information, please contact us or the Fordyce Police Department.
Mr. Rucker has been back at work this week playing catch-up. This week, he and his crew have mowed and trimmed the detention center grounds. He has been doing routine maintenance around here as well. We are glad to have him back and working again.
I'm happy to report Major Mike Foster's daughter is recovering well and should be released from UAMS this weekend sometime. He wanted me to pass on his thanks for the prayers and thoughts during this difficult time. She will undergo therapy for a while and will make a full recovery.
