Good morning, Everyone! I hope you are enjoying the cooler temperatures. I know I am. We are heading into my favorite time of year. Maybe the extreme heat is over. I'm also glad we've received some much needed rain.
I hope you all have been enjoying the Dallas County Fair this week. We have some very talented people in our County who have worked hard to create exhibits that are being shown off this year at the fair. We also have some dedicated youth who have displayed several types of animals that they have raised. I commend those who have committed themselves to these projects. I don't think the judges had an easy time choosing winners. These youngsters should be congratulated on all their hard work. Well done to all who contributed to the fair this year. Thanks also goes out to the dedicated volunteers who help make the fair successful every year.
Mr. Rucker and his crew have had a busy week as usual. They cleaned the football field over the weekend. They also were called on to fix the animal pens and work around the animal barns for the Dallas County Fair. They fixed up the judging area, and erected tents, benches, and the bandstand in preparation for this week's events. Mr. Rucker also found time to clean up around dumpsters all over the county. They cleaned up litter and trash on Highway 128. The rain kept them at the jail yesterday, but they stayed busy with in-house projects. They are back at it early this morning finishing up with Highway 128 and moving on to other parts of the County.
