Good morning,
I'm hoping everyone has had a great week and is prepared for the upcoming holidays.
I'm starting out with an incident that took us to Jefferson Texas. When I first began my term as Sheriff on January 1, we were made aware of a theft ring that spanned from Ouachita County to the Holly Springs area. We ended up arresting several members of the same family. One of these family members was Ms. Emily Henderson who decided to jump bail and flee to Texas. I contacted one of my retired counterparts from Texas whose son is a Texas State Trooper. He put Sergeant Jordan Ables in contact with a team of law enforcement officers there to begin looking for her. A search warrant was obtained for the property where the suspect was living. The property was raided by multiple law enforcement agencies and Ms. Henderson was taken into custody. (See Photo) She has waived extradition and is currently on her way back to our Detention Center. My heartfelt appreciation to our brothers In Texas for putting in the effort to take her into custody. #youcanthidefromus 🙂
Deputies have been working checkpoints this week, along with Fordyce Police Department on DWI enforcement. This National DWI Mobilization campaign will run from December 13 -January 1. Expect to see stepped up law enforcement presence across the state during this time period. PLEASE don't drink and drive!! One incident can change many lives in a matter of seconds. If you decide to drink, make plans to have a designated driver or stay where you are.
Mr. Rucker and his crew have been busy picking up trash this week. On Monday, he cleaned up around dumpsters in the Holly Springs area. Someone had dumped a large amount of building materials around one of these dumpsters. Contact was made with the subject, and he returned to clean up what he had dumped. Remember, these dumpsters are provided county wide for household trash only! They cleaned up around the arena and area dumpsters around Fordyce, completed pickup on county roads, 131 to 167, CR 101, 120 to Highway 8, CR 113, Holly Springs 142 to Highway 273, CR 206 will be completed today.
