Good morning,
I know everyone is enjoying this break from the heat. I know I am! Hopefully, the worst of this brutal heat wave is over.
This has been another productive week here at the Sheriff's Office. I know that those of you who follow our page have heard me mention "ongoing drug investigations". One of the more serious investigations ended this Wednesday with the execution of a search warrant at 1803 Abernathy Street at 7:00 AM at the residence of John Ferguson. A large amount of Methamphetamine was discovered, along with numerous other illegal substances. (See Photo) He is currently charged with 10 felonies at this time. I want to recognize and thank the Fordyce Police Department for their assistance in serving this warrant. The service of these warrants is one of the most dangerous duties of any law enforcement officer. I want to recognize my deputies for all the hard work put into this case. There were numerous hours of surveillance and gathering intel in order to obtain the search warrant. I can assure you this will make an impact on the sale of illicit drugs in our community. Thanks to everyone involved!
Remember what I've said since being elected? Keep selling drugs in our county and we will meet soon! We know who, we know where, it's just a matter of time. We're watching you!
Mr. Rucker and his crew have been working hard as always, this week. Some more painting was completed on Monday in the jail. They worked at the hog barn doing cleanup after the fair this past weekend. They took the tent down that was used at the fair and completed trash pickup. Trash was picked up along Highway 8 in the city limits. Trash pickup was completed on Highway 8 west to the landfill.
