Good morning!
I hope everyone has had a nice week. I'm sure everyone is getting back into your "school day" routines. Please, remember to be alert around school zones and bus stops. Put your phones down and keep an eye on those kiddos.
Today marks the start of the National Labor Day DWI Mobilization program, also known as the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign. The program will run from today until September 1. You can expect an increase in law enforcement presence and, at times, a high saturation of officers from different agencies trying to keep our roadways safe. I want to remind everyone to plan ahead if you know you'll be out and drinking. Secure a designated sober driver or call someone for a ride home. It doesn't take much to be too impaired to drive. When a friend has been drinking, please be proactive and help your friend get a sober ride home. The Arkansas State Police tells us that during the 2023 Labor Day holiday, there were 511 traffic fatalities nationwide, and 36% of these fatalities involved a drunk or impaired driver. 1 fatality is too many, especially when it could have easily been prevented.
Let's take a look at our Felony Friday arrests:
