Good morning,
The week started off with an investigation of two deceased subjects at a residence in Fordyce. The Arkansas State Police CID Agents were called in, while the Fordyce Police Department and the Dallas County Sheriff's Office assisted. The investigation continues, but no foul play is suspected. I received calls from the Fordyce School and Dallas County Medical Center about a possible lockdown of those facilities. I want to reassure everyone that if any danger exists, we will be notifying all residents immediately.
I've attached the results and final numbers for our recent DWI mobilization report.
There is a scam going on that involves a person calling and saying they are with the Dallas County Sheriff's Department, and we have your loved one locked up. For such and such bond fee, he/she can be released. They are asked to pay through CashApp or some other form of payment on the phone. This is a SCAM! We have had 3 people scammed this way in the past two weeks. The caller seems knowledgeable, and it sounds sincere. My department will never call and ask for a bond to be paid digitally. We only accept bond payments in person, and we don't call anyone asking for it. If you happen to receive such a call, please don't pay it. Call the Sheriff's Department if you have concerns, and we can tell you the pertinent information to get your loved one released. Again, we will not call you for money.
A reminder, there is no parking at the football field in the endzone. It is clearly marked with no parking signs, and your vehicle is susceptible to towing if parked there.
