Update:

I am happy to announce that Ladarius Deshon Johnson from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, is now in custody for the recent fatal shooting that took a young man's life early Sunday morning at a birthday party.

As I said earlier today, this was a senseless act of violence. I want to recognize the Fordyce Police Department for their initial response and investigation into the incident. The Arkansas State Police Agents who assisted all of us along the way to make this arrest possible. The U.S. Marshals Service made the arrest after a circuit judge obtained the warrant.

This was not an easy case to investigate, given the lack of cooperation from those in attendance during the incident. I want to recognize the teamwork that went into getting this done.

This dangerous individual is now off the street and will remain in jail until a first appearance.

Thank you to everyone who reached out, supported us, and remained patient until we could make the arrest.
